# Codex Basics

The Codex app enables a translator to work on a translation project in an intuitive manner despite having innovative and powerful tools running "under the hood."

We aim to be unopinionated (see [unopinionated-assistance](https://codex-editor.gitbook.io/project-accelerate/project-overview/vision/unopinionated-assistance "mention")), but in order to offer something useful to users and developers, we use the following guidelines that function as railroad tracks enabling a low-friction path forward:
